Amersham Sonographers provide a private ultrasound scanning service based at Amersham General Hospital.

Growth Scan with Doppler .

From 24 weeks gestation to assess the wellbeing of the fetus. By checking the size, growth rate and weight of the baby.

Indications for this scan are; - Reduced fetal movements, previous small or large baby, small for dates, large for dates, suspected Breech presentation, Multiple pregnancy, maternal disease eg: Diabetes, hypertension & cardiac disease.

We look for the following:

To show fetal heart beat .
To show fetal position ie: Breech
Identify late foetal abnormalities.
Assess foetal growth with serial studies. By measuring the fetal head, abdomen and femur.
Assess foetal weight.
Grade & locate the placenta.
Assess amniotic fluid to assess foetal well being.
Measure Doppler flow of the umbilical artery to assess foetal well being.
