Amersham Sonographers provide a private ultrasound scanning service based at Amersham General Hospital.

Anomaly Scan

This is carried out at 20 to 23 weeks gestation.

We show you the baby's heartbeat and fetal movements.

We check the baby from head to toe performing a detailed survey of the foetus, including the fetal brain, face, spine, heart, kidneys,bowel, bladder, limbs, hands & feet. This scan can detect 2 out of 3 major structural problems and some minor ones.it   is important to remember that a normal scan cannot guarantee a normal baby. This scan will only pick up a few Down's syndrome babies.

Where the placental  is positioned.

Whilst doing this we measure the baby's head , tummy & leg to check the baby's size.
