Who will scan me ?

Nikki Stillwell & Karen Croft are experienced and highly qualified sonographers. We regularly attend up-date courses and conferences and  are regularly audited.

We have both been scanning for over 20 years.

Where will I be scanned ?

Amersham Hospital was recently opened in 2000. The  ultrasound department is modern with state of the art equipment.

Can I bring anyone with me to the scan ?

We are happy for you to bring close family or close friends, but space is limited in the scan room.

Scan Pictures

We are happy to give you scan pictures of your baby. The clarity of the picture will depend on the position of your baby at the time of the scan.

What is Ultrasound ?

Ultrasound is high frequency sound waves which the human ear cannot hear. The sound waves produce echoes and these create an image.

Is it safe ?

Diagnostic ultrasound has been used for over 30 years.

There is no evidence that ultrasound scanning causes any harm to either the mother or the baby.
